Ever seen the Charlie’s Angels movie?
t was big 00s hit, with Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrimore. Now, I’m not a big movie buff, I’d much rather be at the pub watching the footie or going down a YouTube rabbit hole on WW2, but I did watch this back in the day. And it really wasn’t too bad if you like an action/comedy. Based on the hit TV show from the 70s, the concept was pretty simple. Three capable women, trained in various styles of combat, espionage and other useful things, work for an “unknown” man named Charlie. Helping him to achieve his goals and foil the baddies that are out to get him.
Now, I’m no Charlie. I’ve no secret life, no baddies lurking in the shadows trying to plot my end. But I do have an incredible team behind me, both men and women, supporting me and helping me to achieve Millennium’s goals. From the team in the office, who are the boots on the ground and keep the day to day ticking over, to the people who work with me from afar, in the UK and abroad. Over the past 30 years, I’ve built a network of incredible people behind me, and I am truly grateful for every single one of them. Really, I’ve got my own set of Chadd’s Angels.
A long time ago I read a book called Who Not How and it changed the way I thought about business. Now, I know you’ve probably heard me mention this before, but it really did have such a big impact that I think it’s worth a mention here again. If you want to succeed, and I mean really succeed in business, you have to have the right people behind you. You need your own “Angels”. Now, don’t go all woke on me, I don’t mean they have to be young, pretty women like in the movie! Men, women, I don’t care. As long as you have the right people who have the right skills, the right mindset and are dedicated to supporting you in everything that you do, you’re onto a winner. Those people are the “Angels” you need in your life.
Now, I’ve too many Angels in my life to thank them all here individually, but those of you know who you are so thank you. I really couldn’t do it without you. And if you’re in business and you don’t have any angels? Start finding them. They’re out there and they really will make all the difference to your business and your growth.
So how about you? Do you have your own angels or are you still stuck in the weeds, trying to do everything yourself?
