You know that feeling when December rolls round and you suddenly realise… the year’s just gone?
One minute you’re setting goals and getting the wheels in motion, the next you’re dragging the Christmas tree out the loft and wondering where the time went. And it’s always the same, isn’t it? You get so caught up in the day-to-day…the emails, the problems, the firefighting… Then before you know it, you’re singing Auld Lang’s Syne and staring down the barrel of another year thinking, “Right… what’s next then?” The thing is, if you’re only just getting your 2026 plans together, you’re already behind.
Now you probably only know me as a freight forwarder and a pretty face, but I am also a business coach too. I’ve been in business for over 35 years, and if there’s one lesson that I’ve learned over and over again, it’s that the people who win, the ones who grow, the ones who actually build something that lasts… they plan ahead. I’m not just talking about scribbling a few goals in a notebook either. I’m talking about proper planning… Looking at where the opportunities are, identifying what needs fixing, getting clear on where you want to go, and more importantly, what needs to happen to get there. Looking at the team, the systems, the clients you want more of – and the ones you might need to let go of.
At Millennium, we’re already done with our planning for 2026. We’ve got ideas on the table for new team members, more clients, and smarter ways of doing things. But we’re in the minority. Most business owners are still waiting… Waiting for the “right time” to start planning. Waiting until things are quieter. Waiting until they’ve sorted out that one big issue first. But the thing is, there’s never a perfect time. You’ve got to make space for it. Make it a priority.
So let me ask you… Have you started planning for 2026 yet? Not just thinking about it – but actually putting pen to paper and making some serious plans and commitments? If yes, I’d love to hear about your plans… and if no? You better get onto it!
