Oops! I’m So Sorry…

Merry Christmas! I’m only kidding…

It seems our CRM has been having a little mid-life crisis this month and has sent out our Merry Christmas email 4 times now.

It’s like we got the Millennium Bug but a decade too late!

So if you’ve had a lot of Merry Christmases from me, I’m very sorry.

I assure you the issue has been fixed and I will not wish you good tidings again until the next festive season.

It’s been a bit of a nightmare, to be honest. But as with all challenges it got me thinking…

It’s easy as a business owner to beat yourself up about things that don’t go right. When you get things wrong or realise you should have done something differently it can be easy to feel not “good enough” or like a failure. Even if it’s not your fault!

But this little cock up has taught me to be a little kinder to myself.

If even computer software that’s been carefully coded, rigorously tested and has proven itself over time can glitch out and make a mistake, then what hope do we have as humans?

Getting things 100% right, 100% of the time is an unrealistic expectation.

So try your best, keep learning and keep pushing forward. And when you do make mistakes, be kind to yourself, learn from them and move on.
