I’m a big believer that good things come when you get out of your comfort zone.
As you know, there’s nothing I love to do more than watch the footie and enjoy a beer down the pub.
I’m a definite beer drinker. Not vodka. Not gin.
So when an email popped in my inbox offering me a wine & cheese tasting event with the Birmingham Chamber, I could have easily said no.
I’m not the wine and cheese sort.
But in the spirit of getting out of my comfort zone, I signed up and went along.
I won’t lie, I was a little apprehensive.
The event was hosted by a “Wine Educator” who told us all about the wines, the regions, corks and bottles.
I never knew there was so much to learn!
We were all invited to take a swig and sample the wines…
I took a gulp…but perhaps a little too fast.
The wine hit the back of my throat – making me choke and spit wine everywhere!
Thankfully, this was a few weeks ago – before the Coronavirus madness hit the UK. So everyone just laughed.
There would be no way to clear a room faster than spitting everywhere today!
I had a blast.
Have I been converted into a wine connoisseur?
But is my life a little richer because I had that experience? For certain.
So when the isolation ends and life returns to some kind of normal, be brave and try something new. You never know what it might lead to.
