I love the last week of May. There is so much to celebrate.
Not only do we get ANOTHER Bank Holiday Monday, but it’s also my birthday, followed by Millennium’s birthday too real soon !
We’ve been in business for 23 years and wow what a journey those years have been.
I was a normal kid and wanted to be a pilot/astronaut/footballer like most kids, but I found that opportunities like that were thin on the ground for a local lad. In December 1987 I found myself walking into Scan Dutch, starting out in the big wide world of shipping and freight forwarding.
Little did I know what was to come.
Over the next 8 years I held a number of different positions with a variety of carriers and forwarding companies, before taking the leap and starting Millennium Cargo in 1996.
What started as a small business in a spare bedroom has developed into a strong business, with a core team of staff and partners all around the world.
This last year has been full of ups and downs just like the rest.
We’ve seen some interesting changes happening around the world, like the potential speed limits for ships and dare I mention it… Brexit (I think that word is becoming a swear word over here!) and we’ve heard some crazy tales of cargo fires, abandoned t-shirts and dance floor disasters!
But I like to use my birthday month to do more than just reflect on the last 12 months.
It’s not all about us after all…
We really wouldn’t be where we are today without you, our customers, friends and partners. Some of whom have been with us from the very start!
So a massive thank you one and all.
Thank you for your support. Thank you for your custom and thank you for your excellent service. I really do appreciate all that you do.
Here’s to the next 23 years working together!
