Some days you just know you’ll remember for the rest of your life.

That was me, last Saturday, at “Back to the Beginning.” A whole day and night that wasn’t just a concert – it was a piece of music history. A proper heavy metal farewell, decades in the making. And where did it all take place? Villa Park. My team’s home. The ground I’ve stood in more times than I can count.

But that night, it wasn’t about football. For one unforgettable evening, Villa Park was transformed. Black Sabbath – the band that started it all back in 1968 – had come home to Birmingham. To where it all began. And they were playing their final ever show. But it wasn’t just the Sabbath.. Pantera. Anthrax. Slayer. Lamb of God. Alice in Chains. Ronnie Wood, Stephen Tyler, Chad Smith to name a few – The real “Who’s who” of heavy metal…  Hosted by Jason Momoa – yep, Aquaman himself. And right there, centre stage, was Ozzy Osbourne. 76 years old. Battling Parkinson’s. Struggling with his spine. But there he was… still standing (Well sitting actually), still singing, still giving everything he had left in the tank. It was raw. It was powerful. And I’ll be honest – it hit me harder than I expected. It was emotional. I cried three times – and I’m not ashamed to admit it. When Slayer and Pantera came on stage, it all just hit me. The music. The memories. The years.

Because here’s the thing… I saw Iron Maiden just a fortnight earlier – still going strong after five decades. Black Sabbath, wrapping up after nearly 60 years. And it got me thinking:

Where the hell does the time go?

Millennium Cargo turns 28 years old this year. I’m 54 now. But standing in that crowd, screaming lyrics with the kids, I felt 18 again. And the truth is, it all flies by. So fast. So if you take anything from reading this, take this:

Make the most of your time.

Enjoy what you do. Properly enjoy it. Build your business to work for you – not to chain you to a desk. I’ve been in freight since I left school. And I still love it now. But I’ve built Millennium so I can enjoy moments like that gig. Travel the world. Follow Villa across Europe. Spend time with family. And still keep the wheels turning. So whatever you’re building – make sure it gives something back to you. Life’s too short for anything less.

What’s your “life goes too fast moment”? I’d love to hear about it…
